Hot School Lunch – Thursday 1st October 2020

Dear Parents / Guardians

Next Thursday, 1st October is a national school census day – this is where the school reports on how many pupils are on roll and also how many children in our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 groups take up the option of a school meal which is the Government funded Universal Infant Free School Meals         Should the take up of meals be low on this day, it will have a significant impact on our school funding.

As you know, due to being in our class bubbles during Covid times, we have been supplying school packed lunches due to space limitation in the school hall for dining room usage.      However, on Thursday next week, we would like to trial a homemade hot alternative and offer your child a lunch containing Mrs Ralph’s homemade pizza, salad items (tomatoes, cucumber, carrot batons & peppers), together with a yoghurt and a homemade flapjack.

The children will remain in their classrooms and in their bubbles to have this lunch.     Following this trial, we may plan to re-evaluate the hot meal provision in view of starting some option.

All other year groups, of course, are welcome to order a lunch for next Thursday – at a cost of £2.20 per child paid via ParentPay.

Please could you email the school office office.2251@burford-pri.oxon.sch.uk or leave a message on the phone 01993 822159 option 3 to pre-book by 3pm on Tuesday next week (29th) in order for us to purchase the correct amount of groceries.

Many thanks.
