Important Announcement – 4 Jan 20
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following tonight’s announcement, we will be shut from tomorrow morning to all children apart from vulnerable children and those of key workers.
Due to the late announcement, we would ask that you only bring your child to school tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January, if it is absolutely essential.
We will be happy to welcome all vulnerable children and those of key workers from Wednesday 6th January. More information will be sent out tomorrow, including the governments most recent definitions of the two groups and how to provide proof of keyworker status.
We will also be providing updated information on home learning, including when this will be available from.
Kind regards
Adam Clark

Headteacher’s Welcome Message
Welcome to Burford Primary School, an academy with the Oxford Diocesan Schools’ Trust (ODST). Our membership began in October 2015 and we are very ably supported by this multi-academy trust partnership which is committed to excellence in education.
Our friendly school, with a ‘family’ atmosphere, provides a curriculum that ‘offers an engaging range of experiences and activities’ (Ofsted 2018) for pupils aged 3-11 years and is situated at the heart of Burford, serving the local communities of Burford, Fulbrook, Taynton, Asthall, Widford, Westwell, Bradwell Grove, Shilton and Signet.
‘The school’s values of ‘Respect, Aspire, Achieve’ underpin everything that staff do. Consequently, not only do pupils make strong progress, they gain self-confidence, respect, tolerance and high ambitions’ (Ofsted 2018). Our pupils are taught within a safe and stimulating environment and the school promotes an equality of opportunity, so that all can achieve to their full potential. The success of every pupil matters, with staff and governors committed to working in partnership with our parents and the wider community.
Outdoor learning, through Forest School, is experienced by all our pupils and is extremely popular. In addition, a variety of enrichment activities are on offer to enhance the provision further, including Cookery, Dance, Music, Science and Sport.
We provide wrap-around care via a Breakfast and After School Club, run by our own staff, which is very popular with working parents and offers a wide range of activities for our pupils.
If you are a prospective parent, you are most welcome to arrange for a tour of the school, when I would be delighted to meet you and your child.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us on-line and for your interest in our school; I hope you will enjoy browsing our website and find out more about the classes, sporting activities, music, school trips and other events.
